Here are more photos of one of the Red-tailed Hawks we encountered at Tantramar Marsh on December 21 - same hawk as in the picture of the day - "Is That A Mouse?". It was just sitting there for a moment and actually let us get out and take a few photos before flying off. Usually they will fly off as soon as the car stops or we open the car door....lol. I was pleased it let us take a few pictures before doing that :)
All photos taken with Canon 7D Mk ll & Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM + Canon 1.4x lll teleconverter – @560mm with settings: 1/2500, f8, ISO 640- 800 for first 4 photos.
Last photo was taken a little later when the light was getting low: 1/2500, f8, ISO 4000, +0.7 exposure.
