Picture of the Day - "Red-tailed Hawk Composite" - Oct 10, 2016

Today, I decided to try something a little different for my Picture of the Day. I had taken a lot of photos of this Red-tailed Hawk in Sackville, NB but the sky was a grey white. I loved how the hawk turned out, but the sky wasn't so inviting. So I got this idea to make a composite of 5 photos of the different wing positions (started out with 8....lol) of this hawk in flight, right after he took off. I faded the first one about 35% and then the second a little less, and so on, until the last photo (far left) was at 100% opacity. Total time frame from the first faded photo (far right) to the last photo (far left) was only half a second. I do like how this turned out for my first try :)

All photos in the composition was taken with Canon 7D Mark ii & Canon 400mm f5.6 L prime lens, with 1/1600 secs, F5.6, ISO 320, hand held
