Went for a drive today before the rain started. We ended up seeing several new species of waterfowl, as well as a lot of familiar faces, before it started raining. We saw an Eagle, Canadian Geese, Mallard Ducks, Double-crested Cormorants, Herring Gulls, Bufflehead Ducks, Northern Shovelers, Northern Pintails (Bev got a couple of pictures or we would not have realized), American Black Ducks, Northern Gannets and Surf Scoters. The Pintails, Gannets and Scoters were all new to us. The Gannets were offshore a ways and we didn't realized what they were. When they got a bit closer we recognized they were not gulls and started shooting. They did stay a fair bit away so we could not get any real good closeups.
