We went to our local park to capture some autumn colours and saw a few new visitors that we've never seen there before at that park. One of them was this young Double-crested Cormorant. I would say he was this year's offspring. He was just hanging out at the side of the pond enjoying the early morning sun. We got very close to him and he didn't seem to mind our presence. In fact, I was about 6 feet from him while kneeling down. He let me take several photos of him, even close up portraits. After a bit, the park started to get busier with people coming around, and he left his spot and started swimming over to where the ducks and gulls were hanging out.
Here are some images I captured of him that day. Roger also has photos of this guy HERE. I just love his blue eyes. They seemed to match the colour of the water on the close up images. In one of the photos, he was falling asleep as I was taking his picture.....lol.
