Picture of the Day - "Late Day Birding" - Sept. 28, 2018

Last night while taking shots of the sunset, at Pointe-du-Chêne, we kept hearing a Kingfisher chattering around. The sound is unmistakeable as Bev did manage to get a few shots of it, while I was taking shots of the sunset. After we had got back to the car, after sundown, we heard it again. It was up on the wires above the road and then flew down to the bank, near the water. I grabbed the Canon 5D mk IV with the Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary and took a couple of shots. This was when it was starting to get dark and it weas hard to see. This was the result once I dialed in the right settings.

Taken with Canon 5D mk IV, Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary @ 600mm, 1/100 sec, f/6.3 and ISO 16000 (not a typo) 50% crop
