Picture of the Day - "Hummingbird Still Life" - May 25, 2018

Saw a hummingbird checking out the feeder next door, a day or two a go but didn't get any pictures. As you know, they never stay still for long. If you do not have your camera in hand, you can not get a shot of one. Yesterday, this female Ruby-throated Hummingbird was flying around and actually sat in this tree for over 10 seconds, which is an eternity for a hummer. I know it was actually longer, as I have shots over a ten second period and that does not include the time it took to find it in the tree and focus on it.

This was taken with a Canon 7D mk II, Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary @ 600 mm, 1/3200, f/8 and ISO 2000.
