I've been meaning to post this but keep forgetting. So decided to put it up tonight when going through my photos and saw them again. We are not quite sure which type of hawk this is, but think it's a Sharp-shinned Hawk. If anyone can shed some info, that would be great.
Anyway, we saw this guy when we were on our vacation in Sheffield Mills, NS back in January and went to the Miner's Marsh after viewing the eagles one day. It was snowing a bit and then the sun decided to make an appearance later in the day. We were walking along the path looking around and not seeing much at the time in the form of birds. Then out of the corner of our eyes, we saw something flying in. As it got closer, we knew it was a hawk. It flew right past us and then landed on a tree. We walked over slowly to check it out. He didn't seem to mind us being around, but he was paying more attention to something else. After a few photos, he was off to another tree to perch and listen again. We continued to walk around the marsh, hoping to see him again on our way out. But he was gone by the time we left.
It was very cool to see this guy. It was a lifer for both myself and Roger :)
