Stopped by Johnson's Mills Shorebird Reserve and Interpretive Centre today to see what was happening with the Sandpiper's. There were a couple of flocks on the beach, fairly close. Just before high tide, something startled one the flocks and it took off up the shore towards the second, much larger flock. They both took to the air and put on a dazzling display of aerobatics for us. It is incredible to see thousands of bird in the air, swirling back and forth. We will certainly try to get back again in the next couple of weeks before they leave.
