"Three's A Crowd" - Rock Pigeons Mating Attempt (7 images)
Yesterday, I was doing more testing with my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens and the Sigma TC-1401 1.4x teleconverter. We ended up in Pointe-du-chene. There weren't as many gulls around this time, but interestingly enough, I was focusing on this one pigeon flying in and landing on a dock out in the water for flight shots. There was another pigeon there already on the dock. Well I said 'interestingly' for a reason. The one that flew in, wandered over to the other one and they started what looked like 'kissing' ......lol. They took turns doing this, then one mounted the other, in a mating attempt, as I was shooting. Only a few seconds later, she got up and started walking away while he was still on top of her. I could see another pigeon on the left that had walked into the scene in the middle of this :) I had to giggle. It looked so humorous, as if she was thinking "three's a crowd" and walked away :)
