Red-tailed Hawk In Prey Drive (Continued From The Picture of the Day "Going For The Kill")

Here is the Red-tailed Hawk that I photographed in action to catch a prey. It was standing on the ground, after what we think was his first lunch (due to blood on his chest). It was watching something very intently and after a few seconds, took off after it, just flying slightly above the ground. I'm not posting all the photos taken in this sequence, as it would be way too many, but narrowed it down to my favourite 7 that show the action of the hawk in prey drive (#5 was the picture of the day). It was fascinating to watch :)

All photos taken with Canon 7D Mk ll & Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM + Canon 1.4x lll teleconverter –  @560mm, 1/1600, f8, ISO 2500, +0.7 exposure.
