Picture of the Day - "Water Off A Goose's Back" - May 6, 2017

This morning, after getting out of work, it was raining quite a bit. We started driving home, and went around the Dieppe circle where some geese hang out as well as other waterfowl. We had to take another trip around the circle. We thought we spotted something on a tree that we couldn't quite figure out what it was. It was dark with white on the chest. We have seen Cormorants in that tree a few times before, but they don't have white on the chest.  So around we went again......and again, until we could stop safely. After taking a picture, we discovered it was an Owl...........a fake plastic Owl.....lol. Someone had put a fake Owl in the tree to supposedly scare off the birds from that area.  Well the joke is on whoever put it there, as there were 4 Cormorants in that same tree right beside it the night before. It only fooled us humans for a few minutes (meaning Roger and I....lol). The birds are too smart to fall for it :) While we were stopped, we saw 2 Geese in the weeds, baring the rain, with water running off their back feathers. He didn't look too impressed with the weather (along with us....lol).
